Tend vs. Holo AI: marketing on autopilot or a marketing team by text
Compare Tend and Holo AI on posts from your website, paid ads, email campaigns, approvals and what each does beyond marketing, with a feature table and a one-week test.

Tend vs. Holo AI is a comparison of two products that both promise to take marketing work off a small business owner's hands. Holo is a marketing platform: you paste your website, it builds a "Brand DNA", plans a calendar and publishes ads, social posts, emails and SEO pages, with approvals in its dashboard. Tend is a personal AI agent you text: it reads your website once, then makes posts, memes, email campaigns, lead lists and invoices from an iMessage or SMS conversation, and sends nothing until you say yes.
The two overlap on social posts and email campaigns. They differ on paid ads, on where you talk to them, and on how far beyond marketing they go. A good comparison has to say where each one stops.
This article compares Tend's current app with Holo's public website, tryholo.ai, and its pricing page, checked on October 15, 2026. Holo's "How it works" and "Use cases" pages returned errors on that date, so the description of Holo rests on its home page, pricing page and blog. It does not claim comparative testing of speed, quality or results.
Key takeaways
- Holo publishes paid ads; Tend does not. Holo's site says campaigns "publish natively" through "direct API access with Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok". Tend makes organic posts, memes and email campaigns, and can look up what a competitor is advertising, but it does not create or launch ad campaigns.
- Both write from your website. Holo builds a "Brand DNA" from your URL; Tend reads your site once for your logo, colours and what you sell, and writes each post from what the site says.
- Tend works over iMessage and SMS, Holo in a web dashboard. Holo's page mentions "approvals on your phone" without saying how; Tend's whole conversation happens in your messages.
- Tend covers the rest of the business too: invoices in QuickBooks, deals in HubSpot, leads on a sheet, phone calls, bookings, a website. Holo stays inside marketing.
- Pricing models differ. Holo sells monthly credits ("2 credits is 1 creation") with no free trial. Check Tend's own site for its current terms.
- Test with one real week of content before choosing: the same website, the same platforms, and look at what each one actually drafts.
Tend vs. Holo AI comparison table
The table summarises what each product's own materials describe. A listed capability does not mean it works for every account or platform; verify the connections available to you.

What Tend brings to the comparison
Tend's marketing work starts the way Holo's does: with your website. Connect it once and Tend learns your logo, your colours and what your site says you sell. From then on, a text like "a LinkedIn post about the new menu" comes back as a drafted post in your look, with the image made, and a line asking whether to post it. Each new post takes a fresh angle rather than restating the last one.
The same conversation reaches further than marketing:
- Social posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Facebook, as a single image or a carousel with a link to see every slide.
- Memes, for your brand or for a group chat, with the picture sent to you before anything is posted.
- Email campaigns drafted in Klaviyo, with lists built and the live flows listed.
- Leads from LinkedIn, X, Product Hunt and YC gathered onto one Tend Sheet, with competitor research alongside.
- Invoices made and sent from QuickBooks, chased over days when overdue, and a profit and loss for any month.
- The phone call made for you, with a report of what they said.

What Holo brings to the comparison
Holo's home page describes a five-step flow: enter your website, set your goal, get an audit and strategy, launch autopilot, and "every month beats the last". Its FAQ says Holo "owns the whole loop: it plans the calendar, writes in your Brand DNA, publishes to your channels, replies, and moves ad budget based on results."
Two things on that page have no counterpart in Tend. The first is paid ads: Holo says it launches ad variants, pauses what is not converting and shifts budget, through "direct API access with Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other major platforms". The second is SEO pages and blog posts written for your site.
Holo's own blog describes an earlier shape of the product, where you "just download and publish" what it makes. The home page describes native publishing. Which applies to your account is worth confirming before you buy.
Content from your website
Both products begin by reading your site, so the useful test is what comes out the other end. Give each the same website and ask for a week of Instagram posts. Then look at:
- Whether the posts say things your site actually says, or things it does not.
- Whether the look matches your brand without you supplying a template.
- Whether the second and third posts find new angles or repeat the first.
- How many edits it takes before you would post one.
Tend writes each post from the site's own words and keeps a fresh angle per post. Holo describes a month of posts planned and scheduled at once. Neither description tells you the quality; the drafts do.
Publishing and approval
Holo offers two modes: skim the week and "tap approve", or hand a function to autopilot so it publishes without you. Tend has one: it drafts, you say yes, it posts. Nothing goes out otherwise.
Which you want depends on how much you trust unseen output on your own account. Autopilot saves the daily approval. Approval-first means every post that carries your name has been seen by you. Tend's approval happens in the same iMessage thread the post was made in, so saying yes is one reply, not a visit to a dashboard.
Paid ads
This is the clearest line between the two. Holo's materials describe creating ads, launching them through the platforms' APIs, and moving budget between campaigns. Publishing ads through Meta's API means the ads run in an ad account you authorise and pay for.
Tend does not create or run ads. What it does in that area is research: ask what a competitor is advertising and it looks it up as a buying signal, alongside who is hiring, who just raised and who switched tools. If paid ads on autopilot are the job, Holo is built for it and Tend is not.
Email campaigns
Holo lists "welcome, winback, and launch sequences" and a weekly newsletter among what it writes; its site does not name the email provider the emails go out from.
Tend works inside Klaviyo. It looks up your lists, segments, flows and campaigns, tells you which flows are live, finds a profile, builds a list and adds the people, and drafts the campaign. Nothing is sent until you say send. If your email already lives in Klaviyo, that is a concrete difference: the work happens in the account you have.
Beyond marketing
Holo stays inside marketing, which is its pitch. Tend's marketing is one tab of a longer list. The same number you text for a post is the one that tells you who owes you money, moves a deal in HubSpot, finds the next ten clients to call and then calls them, books the table, tracks the flight, and reminds you to pick up cumin when you pass a grocer that has it.
For a solo owner that matters in a practical way: one place to ask, one memory of your business across all of it. For a business with a marketing hire who wants a marketing tool, it matters less.
Pricing
Holo's pricing page sells credits. "2 credits is 1 creation." Starter is 100 credits a month with one brand workspace and no autopilot or analytics; Scale is 500 credits a month with three workspaces, autopilot and analytics. There is no free trial: "Every plan is the full product from day one." Prices shown on October 15, 2026 were under a 60% discount banner, so the numbers on the page may not be the standing ones.
Tend's terms are on its own site. This article does not compare cost per post, because the two products do not count work the same way.
When Tend may be the better fit
Consider Tend as a Holo AI alternative if you want:
- Posts, memes and email campaigns made from a text message, approved in the same thread.
- Your email work done inside Klaviyo, your books inside QuickBooks, your CRM inside HubSpot.
- One agent that also handles invoices, leads, calls, bookings and errands.
- Nothing published or sent without your yes.
Holo may suit you more closely if you want paid ads launched and rebalanced for you, SEO pages written for your site, and a marketing calendar that runs on autopilot once you approve the first week.
Frequently asked questions
Is Tend a Holo AI alternative?
For social posts, memes and email campaigns, yes. For paid ads, no: Tend does not create or run ad campaigns.
Does Tend run Meta or TikTok ads?
No. It can tell you what a competitor is advertising. Holo's site describes launching and managing ads through the platforms' APIs.
Do I need to connect my ad account to Holo?
Holo's site says it publishes through "direct API access with Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok". Publishing ads through those APIs happens in an ad account you authorise. Confirm the exact steps with Holo; its "How it works" page was unavailable when this was checked.
Can I use Tend without a dashboard?
Yes. iMessage or SMS is the main door. The web workspace is there for connections and for reviewing what Tend has learned, not as the place you have to work.
Which one is better for my business?
Give both the same website and the same ask for one week of content. Look at the drafts, count your edits, and check which one works inside the accounts you already use.
